HPS Employee of the Month Recognitions

Each month nominations are accepted from each school and central office for a certified and classified staff member to be recognized as Employee of the Month. The Superintendent’s Cabinet then selects a district classified and certified Employee of the Month from all of the school nominations.

For the District selection, nominations are evaluated in three main areas:

Contribution to Student Achievement

Contribution to Community

Contribution to District

The committee reviews nominations submitted by administrators, employees, and the general public. Nomination forms are available here

Nominations should be submitted to:

As we look to the end of the year, I would like to share with you some of the goals that I have for Hattiesburg Public Schools in the coming years. These goals are ambitious and will take time to accomplish, but I know that they will be of great benefit to the students of Hattiesburg.

Five of my most important goals for our district are:

  • HPSD becoming a learning organization
  • All schools labeled successful or above
  • Building a fine and performing arts center
  • Reducing teacher turnover
  • Increase student ACT average to at least 18

For more information about these goals, please see the video I have posted about them. I look forward to working with you to help Today’s Learners become Tomorrow’s Leaders!
